What criminality? Anyone working for an oil company, or any company, that deals with Iran is a criminal? That doesn't sound fair to me. But if you to make any contact with the Islmaic Republic a crime, well go ahead. Blind hatred ... that's what we're dealing in Iran and abroad.
We had this same back and forth argument with the NIAC lobby, which was claimed to be defending “human rights” in Iran, until it became impossible to ignore the contradictory truth.
When a company is profiting from illegal deals, as Crescent is, therefore it is criminality. Just labeling any documented truth telling as “blind hatred” is not fair either.
How is Crescent involved in illegal deals? And how do you know Namazi has a hand in those illegal deals? Who are you? Investigator, judge and jury? How many other businessmen will you send to the gallows? Namazi will be out of prison and back to work just like all other foreign and dual-nationals arrested by the IRGC.
Rafsanjani junior was the middleman in the deal, his bagman Yazdanpanh payed with his life for revealing the deal. These are all well documented, if you wish to ignore them, that is your choice.
No amount of hyperbole, “sending to gallows” and such will change reality.
I salute JJ for his undivided loyalty, his proven love for Iran and iroonis, and also for his heartfelt argument here, regardless of and despite my opinion on this matter. I wish I could say the same about the writer of this blog. Sadly, I can't.
Come on Tvarich, tell us, how much are you getting paid to constantly monitor his blogs 'despite your opinions'?
A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do to make a living including dealing with the evil IRI regime! Mendacity, mendacity, Thank IRI almighty mendacity!
The problem with the Ann-Ghollabis is their four decade-long problem with telling the truth and basic intellectual honesty. They lied to themselves and to others about Khomeini's Great, Islamic, Divine Ann-Ghollab ("it got hijacked"), they continue to lie about the regime that they keep whitewashing in one way or another, and they lie about their own views. On the one hand, they claim "we all want to get rid of the regime. On the other, this website is blanketed with fawning, dishonest, and unfactual coverage of the IRI's phony "elections". Go figure.
If I were JJ. I'd be extremely offended and reflect on my comments for being "saluted" by a full_time Islamist regime "cyber pro" whose every single comments on this site and on his own site iranian.com is filled with hatred for Iran and Iranians. who regularly cheers the public executions of iranian men , women and children by islamiist terrorist rulers of iran. who using all his false accounts and names lables , libels and attacks anyone who exposes the crimes of his paymasters, the filthy child killing mullahs in Tehran.
Now gime a few of those red thumbs down ya habibi! As JJ assured you in his blog you can thumb up and down in full anonymity using all your user names!!!
When "saluting" JJ, what user name does our belowed Tovaryshch use? Comrade? Pendar-e Neek? Lonely Atom? Republican? Minimalist? Please advise.
I dont want to speak for JJ but over the years I have come to learn where he stands vis a vis the IRI.
He is against Khamenei (the leader) but he is for Khatami and Rouh-Anni!
So, why are you guys up in arms with his supporting the "moooderate" faction of IRI!?
@jockshe: I don't blame our esteemed Sar Dabir for his Khatami crush. After all, look at the many things Seyyed Khandan accomplished during his 8 years as pseudo-"President" of the Mollah Regime. And Rouh-Anni has doubled Ahmadinejad's rate of executions. That is some super-duper reformy reformist/moderate/pragmatic mollah action
Jahanshah
You are making a very solid and sound statement/ or rather allegation there, for which you are providing absolutely no substantial backing; That, on top of ur own admission to the cruelty and viciousness of this regime. That is really amazing.
Can you prove to us that there are "literally millions" who are doing what you say they are doing? and in what precise ways would all these works and "projects" benefits the iranian peoples' live as a whole? Economic progress? raising wages? making an impact on Exchange rates? Bringing under control the inflation rates? HOW?:)
You can not use "Non -criminality" of their activities as a scapegoat to legitimize namazi and those who are in his position. Of course, any 12 year old kid know you will have to go through government authorities to make official trades with a country, But does that Make it all OK?
I wish D41 had stopped at the end of his second paragraph...The issue of "legality" vs "morality" takes us to an emotional realm in which a plethora of endless arguments has been documented.
How the insidious 5th column does its job, the answer was already given by Fred : supporting and facilitating criminality is a crime.
Unfortunately the Mollafia in Iran cannot afford to have any proper investigation as it needs to keep a lid on the misconduct of senior figures, hence the kidnapping saga of Abbas Yazdi otherwise they should have given the evidence of the corrupt practices by Crescent to the US Authorities who would have prosecuted it's US representatives such as Namazi under FCPA thereby making sure the commercial dispute would have been thrown out by the courts and the arbitrator. But that would have involved telling the truth about who was involved
Moreover US persons were, and continue to be, prohibited from engaging in transactions and dealing with Iran and its Government.
I agree with JJ! There are tens of thousands of dual-nationals who conduct business with IRI! Probably 2 out of 3 IRanians in LA/NYC/DC areas live off of dealing with IRI! Are they all criminals for dealing with IRI? Heck YES! They should all be prosecuted and revoked of their US citizenships and deported!
Minimalist
Not my fault that you do not understand that there is a direct link between Morality and legality and one affects the other. But i have a strong feeling, that by using such language, as usual , you are trying to deviate from the substance and the real issue.
Let me pose the same question to you. What do you think were the economic and commercial benefits that was bestowed upon iranians, as one nation, as a result of all these activities and trades carried out by these so-called "iran-loving" men?
Should i expect a decent answer, or are you going to use mumbo-jumbo , you don't even understand yourself.
Since when commercial trades and activities are supposed to bestow benefits upon people?...You can't, I mean you shouldn't be,a right-winger in one blog [where you questioned the merit of free education for all, in Cuba], and now a soft-hearted, people-hugging socialist, here. This fellow did nothing illegal. Period. Do I morally approve of his activities?...that's not the issue, here.
Doing business is not against the law. Do you have evidence that Namazi committed fraud or bribery or anything illegal? Or do you only want to send him to prison, or even hang him, because you don't like anyone to do business with this regime. But isn't that how the regime's judiciary operates? Framing opponents? Punishing people for political ends?
Where's the line between treason and making a living? Is an Iran Air pilot doing something immoral by flying regime officials to various capitals? Should he be punished for it in the People's Court? What about every employee of the National Iranian Oil Company? Where would the regime be without them going to work every day? What about scientists and engineers working in Iran's nuclear installations? Should they be hanged if the regime is toppled and the people come to power? What about the Iranian lawyers and consultants who facilitated the multi-billion dollar Airbus deal? What's the difference between them and Namazi? The only difference is that you know Namazi's name. You can channel all your anger through him for every crime this regime has committed.
100 rahmat beh kangaroo courts.
Khalkhali is alive and well, apparently.
Hanging people from cranes and street lamp posts has been a hobby of your IRI pals, whom you served for 10 years, JJ gerami!
Conducting busniess with IRI regime has been considered illegal since 1979!
You can research it on line e.g., see US state department site!
Your pals will do a much better job. Be proud.
So when Namazi is released, and returns to the U.S., he will be arrested and punished for doing business with/in Iran? Nobody in the U.S. knew Namazi was doing business in Iran and breaking the law before? Hmm... Not a very strong argument. Try again Alkoli.
I would rather be Alkoli & Taryaki than helping/supporting IRI! Be proud! ;-)
"Khalkhali is alive and well, apparently."... Indeed.
Minimalist
Since the beginning of time buddy. How else can you legitimize the business activities of any one of these so-called "legitimate" boys doing deals with IRI for the betterment of the overall situation of iranians in iran?
At first i merely had my doubts that you've got your wires crossed there pal, now i am sure. Show me how i am being a people-hugging, socialist, here. Are you so desperate that you just see it as your duty to throw lables at people, just for the heck of it? And how and where did i criticize free education in Cuba.
Since you are into asking for proof for everything, can you show us how what he did was not illegal?
The answer to that last questiion IS The isssue here, It is just that you are coping out, that is all.
Jahanshah.
Why are u mixing matters here? Tell me this. If someone out there is selling drugs and making a huge profit out of it, do you deem that as legal and will you claim that this man is only making a living and only tries to bring "recreation" to the youth's lives?
What about those engineers and techs who work in the Nuclear facilities. and what about those lawyers who brokered the Airbus deals? What about them? They are there because they follow the same line, the same ideology as that of the regime, because you have got to be a member of the gang and dedicated so you can land jobs of such sensitive nature. Same goes for any other sensitive deals. Of course, you can not punish them, but that does not mean that they are not politically devoted to whatever this regime stands for.
With namazi, everyone knows that he was only an agent and a frontman, making things easier for IRI, circumventing the sanctions, come on now. It is just that they had a bit of a miscommuniction, and ooopsi daisy, guess who is gonna get his behind slapped.
Doing business with Iran for a US Citizen is against the law. If JJ refuses to see the difference between a dual US Citizen and non-US persons dealing with NIOC or Euroean Airbus or others in his example then he is being as disingenuous as the Toudehie rabble here. To accuse people of being Khalkhali is poor.
You're comparing Namazi's line of work with drug dealers? And how was Namazi a "frontman" for the regime, exactly? And how is this so called agent of the regime in regime's jail?
Jahanshah.
Come on man. Stop it already, You know very well, you are getting nowhere with this long line of questioning. Ok baba. He was a freaking saint and we should not take our anger out on him.
Khoobeh? Can you sleep easier tonite? I don't think you are thinking clearly there pal. And i am sure that stems from your support for NIAC and all these flimsy iran-supporting money-grabbing, organizations.
Ok fozolie. You know more than the CIA and the FBI about what Siamak Namazi was up to. They will catch him as soon as he steps on US soil for breaking the law, as you say. Or will he be treated like all others who have been eventually freed? Like a hero escaping injustice? I wonder if he'll be punished by the Americans, or rather by Iranians who seek vengence rather than justice?
Here is an Iran consultant working for an oil trader of ill repute (long before doing the Iran deal) engaged in a dispute with IR so now we are expected to believe by his supporters he had nothing to do with Iran matters. Pigs are we are reliably informed by Namaxi lobby flying overhead. Then he has nothing to fear. Your Eshal-talabs will secure his release. Inshallah.
Oh my goodness. That's terrible. Tell that to the FBI. They are not doing their job properly.
Self-respecting, competent, capable, reputable, and effective businessmen/women operate within the framework of law when selecting clients! Furthermore, they would refrain from condcuting business with shady clients (IRI in this case) out of principles! Only Dallaals and Bazzari Hammalls would stoop so low to deal with the criminal IRI regime and that's becasue they are under financial stress that they would have to sell something to somebody out of desperation! It doesn't matter how you slice and dice it, frame it in a legal or a moral or a finesse context, Siamak Namazi fits the bill! He is no businessmen becasue he is a Dallaal/Bazarri Hammall at best! And at worst, he is am accomplice to a terrorist regime!
The funny thing about the two IRI "Employees of the Month"/"reformist" Groupies on this thread invoking Khalkhali is that, before he died, Khalkhali joined their gang of "reformists" (LOL) that they propagandize about 24/7:
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/11/29/world/sadegh-khalkhali-77-a-judge-in-iran-who-executed-hundreds.html
Two?...who is the other one?...
Small world, AMIR1973!
Khalkhali was a reformist after all! L.O.L!
So, if "reformism" is a property that links the birds of a feather, can we postulate that Khatami, Rouh-anni, Khalkhali, and JJ are linked together as reformists!?
Amir and Jock
These guys/gals will accept Nothing but the truth (LOL) and want proof for it (LOL). SOme of them are the ones, SOME OF them. live their cushy lives in the west, while they worry about every small damn events taking place in their beloved IRI...When you ask them to prove their own claims, that is when clowning around and throwing baseless accusations starts.
As if they could even tell the evidence/proof was legitimate, had it sat on their laps and slapped them in the face.
WHat they pretend to not recognize is that all these pawns they put their support behind, will be forced to leave their posts when the right time comes, whether people like it or not. That is when they a get a real sense of what reform means. We will see if they continue with their ...people want this...people chose that...saga
The puppet masters are still enjoying the show of "people have the right to choose so let them have their say".
No respectable American business or American persons has done business with Iran since the US sanctions came into force after the hostage taking and since they were tightened further in the 90's as they have been advised by their legal counsel. And yes if DOJ is doing its job he should be prosecuted as I said earlier. There are many dual nationals in the industry who do not deal with the regime for good reason. It is illegal. There are many non-US dual nationals who do not either because it is immoral.
@Minimalist:
Two?...who is the other one?...
Esteemed Sar Dabir + Minimalist/Lonely Atom/Pendar-e Neek/Comrade/Republican/____/____/et cetera/et cetera = 2
I am counting all of your different User Names as a solitary entity, for the sake of clarity and consistency.
Any other questions, Tovaryshch?
Khalkhali, the "Hanging Judge", was as much a legitimate member of the "Mollah Regime's" moderate, pragmatic, liberal, reformy reformist clique as the mass executioner Dorri Najafabadi and the pedophile and mass executioner Reyshahri is today. Zibakalam said so just a couple days ago:
“I agree Reyshahri has killed a lot of people...He has no democratic background, but he is also not against democracy and freedom." (!LOL!)
http://www.theguardian.com/world/iran-blog/2016/feb/26/iran-zibakalam-grand-reformists-coalistion-includes-intelligence-ministers
I'm nobody...a nobody... a lowlife loser...a waste of time...But...Are you really accusing JJ of being on the take?
@Minimalist: not at all. In fact, quite the contrary: JJ strikes me (IMHO) as a "believer" in the Great Revolutionary Regime. Perhaps, a partially disillusioned and somewhat chastened believer, but a believer nonetheless. Some (certainly not all) of the early regime supporters have a hard time entirely letting go of their beloved Ann-Ghollab.
Hey Mini
WHat happened there dude? I thought u were supposed to give me irrefutable proof that i am a "people-hugger" and a softie in this blog and totally anti-people in the other? Come on bud. Ain't got all day. Chop , chop bro. Andele amigo. after u are done here...I need u in the kitchen chopping up some chicken and cut some veggies...Ok amigo?
AMir jan
It is not partial, it is a case of fully disillusioned , that unfortunately has penetrated into the souls of so many iranians in iran as well. That "something better than nothing" attitude, which i have no problems with as a general principle , But not in this case. As if they know for certain, who is actually supporting what school of thought and who is a real reformer or not. I mean, look at Those words uttered by Zibakalam dude...full of contradictions...Yet this clown is their "antellectual"
Geeev me a berek for de lov of Lord:)
I Respect peoples' political persuations and beliefs, But I can not call them "hamvatan" or ham meehan when i see then doing the same thing they have a million times before, expecting same or better results.
I'd love to make Persian cuisine in your kitchen... So, let's continue only in Farsi; no penglish, please. Let me know when you're ready for some chop-chops...

Google translate failed , I guess... That's fine... But please try to remember this conversation forever. You remind me of "sargord pirooz" who was doing like you for IRI side. I fixed him too. One more thing: you can always prove me wrong and make me feel like shit, by writing and engaging in Farsi. Boos.
LOL
U are so Freaking scary. Maaan...Please....
I Am a busy man and will never even bother to remember crap by people who stand for brutality.
No, You are like sargord pirooz because you are tearing yourself apart for IRI and this new democracy. You have proven it many times over, The Oscar committee of Qom seminary wants to nominate you for an award or some sh...like that. Heck, they may even give you a free ride in their company car.
I don't care to prove anyone wrong. That is not why i am here. Unlike you, I don't keep scores and play for keeps. Thought about making you feel like shit...But i changed my mind. You are doing a fantastic job of it urself, and friends on other blogs are letting you have it, big time. So...Naaa. You have enuff on your plate..for now.
And I hate Farsi and save ur boos for your illegitimate lover (s).
P.S.
Hey...so when are we gonna get rolling on the process of you fixing me... LOL

Why does "serving Iran" always seem to require serving yourself first?
No. The Namazis are hyenas, who merely got caught by the Lions while trying to snag their peice of the rotting corpse of Iran.
I mean, just look at the details, it's so obvious.
Stupid Hyena!
"Why does "serving Iran" always seem to require serving yourself first?"
Hear, hear.
Iran can never be saved and it is being served plenty. Khater jaam:)
Even hoping for it, would be a huge waste of time.
I said this before and i am saying it again. People in iran are happy with the status quo, Yes, there is human rights issues, women rights issues, and all other kinds crazy aholes doing all kinds of crazy shiit, but everything is running smoothly. People have found a way to cope AND I AM NOT SAYING IT IS ALL RIGHT, but it is what it is. Those who can , would get the hell out. Those who can't are more than happy. They Bitchh and moan, but happy nevertheless.
So My advice to all those not in iran, Take it for what is worth , If you don't have any family members, freaking forget about iran and its future , you know damn well you aint coming back EVER. so Technically, you have no business worrying about what happens. If you do, with ALL DUE RESPECT , you are shedding crocodile tears. It is all sentimental crap, ain't worth a damn..
Want to expand your business? Fine. Don't do it in iran, do it somewhere else.
Got family in here? Help them get out. Get them immigration forms and start filling them out.
