I think more people would join this service if they could watch unlimited films for a monthly subscription (7-10 dollars). Something like what Netflix does.
Since you yourself brought it up; so are you an IRI agent?
so far 50% of respondet think you are !
I would if the Omatestan film industry stop producing movies that depress the shit out of you and have the woman dress normaly like the rest of the planet.
Dear hamal, that option was meant to be a joke, which I thought folks who selected it got it. To continue the joke, yes, I am. LOL. If they really meant it, well, that would be a great opening into theirvthinking. Dear MRX, you're thinking at the higher level. The survey is aimed at movie fans at a lower level, meaning it is targetted to Iranian movie viewers, who currently watch Iranian movies on the Youtube (and other web sites). The same movies with the characteristics you described. These movie folks make up a sizeable constituency. So, the question is are they willing to change their choice, if they know they can help the movie industry as described in the survey?
Thank you Bavafa with the Clarification. In that case the answer is NO! if you are a free loader then why would change?
I just asked my library to buy 20 Iranian movies. It's a good way to help my community be introduced to Iranian movies and specially the critical actors and directors. If I were to help the Iranian movie industry directly however, I'd give money to human rights organizations to support the directors in prison and exiled members of the film industry and to reflect the plight of all those who are being hurt by the pressures that the Islamic Republic exerts on the Iranian film industry. I would certainly not give it to some middle man aghazadeh who wants to start a website and has connections that would secure him semi-coerced copy right.
Paid viewership is a good way to influence content.
Hi Ari jan. I agree with you that paid viewership sounds like the way to go, as Jahanshah also mentioned. The trouble is under the premise in this survey, the initial mass of the available movies would be small. The fact is that the mass is accumulated on the YouTube. So, we get trapped inside a cycle with the argument "if I can watch the mass for free, why should I watch a small number of them for one dollar per movie?
Pay-one-dollar-per-movie could be tied to buying an official DVD of the movie. It is a fact that the one-dollar price tag of an official DVD feeds every chanell in the entire food chain. The one-dollar does not go to web site operator.
AmirIraniTehrani, thank you for your response. Sorry for reading it late. I comment just in case you come back to this.
ALL OF the one dollar goes to the movie industry. Web site operator does not make money. Impossible, unless rules of math have changed.
It is always a good policy not to support a web site you don't know its purpose, folks behind it, and you don't know, as they say, "How It Works." See my response to Ari.
Like any other country, the movie industry in Iran is a deep (meaning a vartically tall) food chain.
