While it took great courage on Golshifteh's part to do what she did, her life was never in jeopardy as Malala's is today.

I was going to say Niloufar Parsi.  But then I noticed you said "defying" Islamists not "defending" them.  :-)

I don't think the two are similar to compare fairly as one is an adult.

Malala probably was helped and talked into doing what she did with the help of others (adults in particular).

On the other hand, did really Golshifteh took her cloth off for defying the fundamentalists or for other reasons? I suppose depends how you look at it. You could also say fundamentalists got her to do what they wanted!!!!

AO jaan, looks like someone from the Niloofar Parsi Fan Club monitors this site and gave you a thumb down...he he he... I've always thought that Niloofar (AKA faati comando) could not have picked a less appropriate username than Par, I say Parsi - or Nilofar, for that matter.

COP jaan- There is one particular member of her fan club that trolls this site and is very quick with the thumbs down.  And as fare as the Parsi thing, well--(s)he's over-compensating. 

I like them both and have great respect for both of them.

First, I hardly ever use thumbs up/down. Second, am not anyone's club member. I write on behalf of myself only.

I did appreciate some of NP's writings, though. Well documented and interesting, eg. taliban, Afganistan. But am not a fan. Not of NP, or of anybody for that matter. Rather, when I find people's comments interesting n knowledgable (particularly about countries I know little about), I take my time to think over n read further. That's how we all learn, I suppose. 

I just don't like the questions posed in this survey. Somehow, it's demeaning to both. And I also believe that this site, AngloPhile in particular, can offer more than just surveys.
