To be fare lying is not unique to Iranians so I am not sure what is the aim this survey.

True, but some lie more than others. Some systems facilitate the environment and the conditions for people to lie, case in point the IRI.

I voted for 1%. Because we people of Iran are the followers of mobin religion of Eslam and as such never tell lies. Because if we tell lies, that first night in the grave when we are lonely and defenseless and weak, some very bad things will happen to us. I am not going to tell the details because maybe women and children might come here and read this.

Dear Seyed Javad, please remember that the 14 biggest lies of all times are Allah, Muhammad, and the 12 Imams. Furthermore, the mollas and their constituencies which are about 10 million or so contribute to 99% of lies told in Iran on a daily basis. The remaining population of Iran which are about 60 million or so tell very little lies. I think that's what was going in your mind so you chose the 1% answer. May Ahura Mazda help you to tell as little lies as possible, I know it's hard on your part but it's worth the effort! :-)

I have no problem with secular or non religious folks who lie; actually I do, but that is nothing compared to what I feel against religious people who lie, bribe, take bribes and commit all kinda wrongs for a living year-round only to repent or pretend to, during Moharram in the hope that they will be salvaged by Hussein or whoever. Those fellows don't hesitate going back to their filthy old routine at the end of annual ritual until the next year. Just disgusting.
