So one will have to choose to see blogs OR links by choosing one of the tabs?  Both can't be seen at the same time?

Latest blogs will always be seen on the front page.

It looks good but it still only features 5 blogs in the first page which means in some cases a blog may not be present in the first page for more than a few hours. If Iroon wants to be another Balatarin (as it seems to be now) then that may work. If however it wants to encourage the creation of original material then such fast rotation of material will be a discouragement. Perhaps the height can be increased to feature more blogs.

I personally preferred the mix format of English and Persian postings as in the old IC but that is just a personal taste.

Glad to see you putting in a sustained effort in bettering this site, that was the main problem with the old Iranian.com and you seem to have learned to keep up with the latest technolgy trends, keep it up, respect!

There will be at least 10 blogs featured on the front page. This is just a sample. Also the links to news items will also be in the mid section.

I, as  an ordinary iranian, am already very happy and thankfull to heve been given a platform by you my dear brother to say clearly who I like and support  despite the loud and organised digital noises of sick with cancer Ali Khamenei's lobbies. The new format you are proposing, is just icing on this cake. But I am with other brothers and sisters in approving your decision on giving more room to blogs  where more learned brothers and sisters can share their knowledge and wisdom with the rest of us.

Be certain that  Allah almighty will repay you for providing this valuable service to your country men and women. Ensha Allah.

Yes it is all fair and well. And while you are at it maybe you should consider the free expression policy being practiced here. Some of the site users are sayeds and see it very offensive seeing thier muslim ancestor being insulted so easily.

Your understanding will increase site users' number.

JJ: I also have a similar request to my friend Amirkabir4U.  I worship rocks, and I would appreciate it if you refrain from posting articles that portray a ngetaive image of rocks. Thank you.

On a more serious note, I agree with everything that Divaneh has said above.  Please also make sure that a default font of the site is a little bigger.  This way you will avoid empty space on the page. Combining the Persian and the English posts seems like a good idea as well since it appears that the site gets more traffic on the Persian side (which is natural with a name like iroon.com).  Lastly, three more suggestions: can you make it so that we get notifications when there's anew comment on our posts?  This is important especially with quotes, photos and videos that have a very quick turn around time; and 2: I forgot...I 'll let you know later. 

One more thing JJ. Please bring back the latest comments. That allowed me to easily spot the comments by the people that I followed and served as a gateway to various blogs that I would have ignored.

OK.  I remember now: you may want to list the number of page views as opposed to unqiue page views.  That's what other sites do.  

I think you (or someone on your staff ;-) should "feature" material and decide how long a piece should be featured.  There is really no difference between "Latest Posts" and "Top Posts", no difference since the meaning behind them don't necessarily represent what they're supposed to do.

For example, "Latest" could simply mean the last 10 or 15 where the last 10 or 15 were loaded in the past hour and there are 20 or 30 more postings which have been buried deep in cyberspace!  Or that the "Top" could mean the ones with 13 or 15 likes or dislikes whereas the "real" top posts were again, buried deep in cyberspace!

If you "feature" material, like you used to (before you got waaaay too lazy ;-) people will be encouraged to write worthy material, sort of like a healthy competition as opposed to making people become waaay too lazy like yourself!

The way you're showing the surveys, is good, like USA Today's surveys, "feature" one Survey and if people want they can click and see more.

I think you've covered the freedom of speech comment control stuff and trolling pretty good.  No complaint from me, as far as I'm concerened it can be a model everywhere else.  The "ignore" and "block" buttons are very good, except when I ignore someone s/he can still go and puke in my belog (without me seeing what s/he has written since s/he's ignored :-) and I have to go un-ignore, then block, so that we have no more puking.

Bottom line, feature (don't be lazy, do your job) and you shall have good material, no feature and you shall have crap!

BTW why have you دخل و تصرف in my "Do you wish you were born Western European/American?" survey, کجا Daryaee has had this survey in his profile?!  Huh?
