مردم ایران آتش زیر خاکسترند

درست میگی‌ ولک، ولی‌ این آتش زیر دیر زمانیست که دنبال پیازو سیب زمینی‌ و...یک لقمه نونه، حقم داره. میگن اگر می‌خواهید ایرانی‌ رو کنترل کنید بفرستش دنبال نخود سیاه و امورات شکم با یه باتوم روی سرش، این برای دیگر ادامها در دنیا مصداق داره ولی‌ برای ما خیلی‌ بیشتر.

I have come to believe that Iranians suffer from a "deafted culture" syndrome.  I think that post Islam amd then the catasrophic Mongol defeat that took away so much of our identity--and made us a defeated and subjugated peopl--we have come to accept defeat and live with it.  Look at Hafez's "teachings."  It's all defeatist "let's make the best out of the situation" and "God will make it better" type stuff.  We talk a lot about our sense of pride, but it's because we really want to compensate for what in actuality we don't have.  It makes us a very easy people to tame.
