Atefeh Rangriz, a women's rights activist from Semnan province of Iran, has been arrested once again by Iranian authorities.

Rangriz was transferred to Shahrud Prison after facing charges at Branch 1 of the Damghan Prosecutor's Office.

Before her arrest, Rangriz had disclosed on her Instagram account that she was facing new allegations, including "forming a group with the intent to disrupt security," "propaganda against the Islamic Republic," and "spreading falsehoods on social media."

On September 10, 2023, she was arrested by intelligence agents in Damghan and held at the intelligence detention center in Semnan, according to the Hengaw human rights organization.

She was subsequently moved to Shahrud Central Prison before being temporarily released on bail on October 21, 2023.
