Signed. Thank you.
I am sorry but as much as I would like to support the idea I simply cannot because of the Farsi/Persian muddle. It is conceited of Iranians to force Farsi on non-Iranians. The introduction of the latinised term Farsi outside Iran was a political act by the Islamic Republic, which it imposed unilaterally. Moreover it caused a split with other Persian speaking nations as they did not want to be associated with this vile regime hence the invention of Dari and Tajik as languages.
I personally use only the word Persian for our language in English and wish the author of this petition had not used the word Farsi. But because he has also used the word Persian I let it go for the good cause of the petition.
Well said.
