Actually, some on the Far Right in Congress have criticized this move with concerns that the US will be dragged into this fighting - Kind of odd for war mongering right wing nutjobs!

This symbolic action by Trump will unfortunately have the opposite effect. That’s why everybody is asking “what’s next?” If he was serious about delivering a strong message to Assad, he would have dropped a bomb on Assad’s head at his palace, instead of sending missiles to an empty airfield with advanced notification to the Russians to move their fighter jets and pilots out of there.

Now the folks in Iran and North Korea know that they can mess with US and expect a few bombs or missiles on empty buildings or barracks.

Trump’s base (and Steve Bannon) is isolationist and not globalist and they hate interfering in the world affairs. Trump will be finished without his base. And trying to be a “hybrid” when you cannot eat from neither “Tobreh” nor Aakhor” will lead to starvation!
