According to University of Texas here: the Old Persian writing system was completely different from the Modern Persian used today. It was written from left to right, like Modern English.

Iranica also says left to right: Niebuhr recognized at once that the script was written from left to right.

Old Persian texts were written from left to right in the syllabic Old Persian cuneiform script and had 36 phonetic characters and 8 logograms.

Thank you all. Great info. Now I know how to have it done! Dear COP. This will be my third tattoo. I have two other ones. One on my upper left arm, around my bicep, another on my right shoulder blade area, and this will be the third one. In addition to running, I spend a quite a bit of time in the gym. So I've got to keep the decently sculpted physique nicely decorated. :-)) And as I've mentioned many times before, I'm a vegan. So don't let anyone tell you that you need a lot of animal based protein to build muscle. I do it all on vegan protein, and it works just as well.
