IranWire:
Political prisoners disrupted a planned filming session on Saturday during a visit by the head of Tehran province’s prison organization to Fashafoyeh Prison.
The visit was intended to document the conditions of inmates recently transferred from Evin Prison following an Israeli attack.
Heshmatollah Hayat-al-Ghaib, head of Tehran’s provincial prison authority, arrived at the prison on Saturday morning accompanied by security forces and judicial officials.
According to IranWire sources, the delegation intended to film a report highlighting oversight of political prisoners held in ward 9 of section 2.
However, the prisoners began protesting after realizing the visit was aimed at producing a video report portraying official concern for their conditions.
They halted the filming and chanted political slogans, including “Death to the dictator,” forcing Hayat-al-Ghaib and his entourage to leave the ward.
The political prisoners viewed the planned video as government propaganda, meant to counter recent reports exposing poor detention conditions.
These inmates had been transferred from Evin Prison to Fashafoyeh following an Israeli attack last month.
