Congratulations on a very well-written and produced program. It’s engaging and I agree with almost everything that was said. But there is one glaring omission of the fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran is not an innocent victim in this bloody dirty conflict. Not only has it been on an ideological mission to destroy Israel and combat America, but also acted as the most repressive and brutal regime in Iran’s history. For sure Iran’s rulers of the past 45 years aren’t as reputable as Cyrus, Darius or Mosaddegh. So after watching this, I was left bewildered as to why there was this imbalance? Why only show the West as the “bud guy”? Looking at the awful facts about the brutalities against the Iranian people, and the regime’s aggressive expansionist foreign policies, can’t we fairly and accurately say that the Islamic Republic does not deserve to be portrayed as the “good guy”? I don’t know about the Persians and the Greeks, but in today’s conflict at least, there are NO good and bad sides. The rulers in the countries involved are ALL bullies with illegitimate and immoral goals and world views. We don’t have to see conflicts in terms of which side is better or worse because, more often than not, neither side has the moral high ground. And in admitting so, we can be more realistic and accurate in our arguments. This is an East-West conflict, but not necessarily Good vs. Evil. There’s lots of evil going around here and no one side has a monopoly.
