Last night I was talking to a relative who lives in the U.S.

"You won't believe what happened..." she said.

That usually means bad news. "What?" I asked.

"Do you remember I used to buy contraception patches whenever I traveled abroad? It was at least half the price I paid the drug store in the U.S. with my private insurance."

"Yeah. So what happened?"

"Well, the first stages of Obama Care has kicked in. So I wondered how it has affected the cost of drugs. I called my doctor and asked him for a prescription so I could get the patch. I went to the drug store to get it and I couldn't believe it... "

"What?..."

"It was FREE!!!"

"Wow! Unbelievable! You should post something on Facebook and let people know."

"No... I'm afraid they're going to call me a slut!"

It's really a miracle to hear some prescription drugs are now free. The cost of insurance and drugs have been ridiculously high for ages. I never thought any politician could beat the powerful drug lobby.

Common sense has prevailed, in this case at least. Thank you Obama!
