We are excited to announce that leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives announced a floor vote on the NO BAN Act, legislation that would repeal the Travel Ban, on Wednesday, July 22nd.

PAAIA and its coalition partners have worked closely with House leadership and Speaker Nancy Pelosi to get the NO BAN Act on the legislative schedule since it was removed in March as Congress prioritized important economic stimulus packages to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.

We see the NO BAN Act as a steppingstone that signals to future administrations that the American people will not stand for discriminatory policies like the Travel Ban and will hold the executive branch accountable when it threatens our country's core values.

Tell your members of Congress to support the NO BAN Act on July 22!

The NO BAN Act is a meaningful and practical step forward for the Iranian American community and others that have been negatively impacted by the Travel Ban.

The legislation would repeal all iterations of the Travel, Asylum, and Refugee Bans, as well as create more mechanisms for any administration to undergo before enacting similar policies.

By incorporating substantive criteria and accountability, the NO BAN Act safeguards against the abuse of presidential powers and ensures that the exclusion of entry is maintained for those who pose a real threat to the United States.
