Iranian security forces have arrested Mojgan Salmanzadeh, a researcher from the minority Baha'i community, in northwestern Mako.

Salmanzadeh, a resident of Tehran, had been staying in Mako for two weeks before her arrest.

The reasons for her presence in the city and the circumstances leading to her detention remain unclear.

Following her arrest, Salmanzadeh was able to contact her family, informing them that she had been transferred to the general ward of Mako Central Prison.

Authorities have not provided any information regarding the reasons for her arrest or the specific charges she may be facing.

Despite efforts by her family, requests for Salmanzadeh's temporary release have been denied by the authorities.

This incident adds to the growing list of arrests involving members of the Baha'i faith in Iran.

The Baha'i community, which is not recognized as an official religion by the Iranian government, has long faced discrimination and persecution in the country.
