Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joined protesters in Ottawa on Saturday speaking out against the Iranian regime, telling Iranian- Canadians: “We will stand with you. I march with you. I will hold hands with you.”

Protests were held across Canada today as the victims of Ukraine International Airlines flight 752 lent their voices to worldwide calls for revolution in Iran.

Trudeau said Canadians would continue to protest the Iranian regime’s brutality and “amplify” the voices of the Iranian people.

He also spoke about his government’s attempts to punish the Iranian government in the wake of Mahsa Amini’s death, a 22-year-old who died in the custody of Iran’s morality police after being arrested for "wearing her hijab improperly."

Trudeau said members of the Iranian regime and Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) had been permanently banned from entering Canada, adding that they “would never be forgotten” or be allowed into Canada even if there is a regime change in Iran.
