Unless you believe that English-speaking white guys are going to apply for green cards to come here and pick lettuce in Salinas Valley or San Joaquin Valley.

Actually, I will pay to see that; English gentlemen driving to the field in their Jaguars, put their white gloves on and then ask their butlers how to pick strawberries!

This bill, however, is geared toward the folks who obtain a green card somehow and then start bringing their family members to the States one at a time, or wholesale! Most of these folks have never paid a dime in taxes , but will become eligible to collect SSI, Medicare, etc. We all know or have known people like that. Actually, I beleive these are two different issues: One is the agricultural workers who are basically nomads working between Florida, California and other States where crops/fruits/veggies, etc. can be harvested/picked depending on the time of the year. These are likely to be undocumented and do not benefit from legal immigration (which this bill targets).
