Tha Garden

by Firoozeh Khatibi

The cat invited me to the yard.
I sat near a tree and she disappeared
In the hedges chasing a butterfly.
A moment passed and she was back
Relaxing on a pink rock.
Her eyes golden,
Her fur orange and yellow
Watching me from a distance.

A young squirrel approached,
Appearing on a wooden fence
We all said hello.
The butterfly, the cat and I
We lived in the moment being nobody.
