City of Mashhad located in North East of Iran in close proximity to borders of Afghanistan and Russia.
In the city of Mashhad, there is a high rise luxurious Hotel by the name of Haytt Hotel. Haytt Hotel changed it's name to Homa's Hotel after revolution.
The Hyatt Hotell was a place of high rank government officials before revolution. Dr. Mozhdehi, Dean of Ferdowsi Univesity, used to live in the penthouse of this hotel in early 70's. He moved to Tehran and became a member of senate later on. He worked closely with shah administration till revolution. He was a tall guy with soft, long, full gray hair who was speaking Farsi with northern accent (Rashti). Governor of Khorasan providence, Mr. Valian, used to have all his governmental meetings in this hotel before revolution.
After collespe of Islamic Taliban regime in Afghanistan, many Talibans along with Al-Qaeda members ran away from Afghanistan. The first city they could possibly took the refuge was Mashhad which was about 2 hours from Afghanistan border. Ayatollahs in Iran allowed them to use Iran as a transit to any other destinations, but they didn't allow them to use Iran as a bases for their political acitivites. It was widely believed Haytt Hotell was hosting Bin Laden and Al Qaeda members for a long time. People who live in Mashhad were fully aware of it. Common knowledge. If anyone travel to Mashhad and ask ordinary people about Bin Laden, they would have pointed their fingures to Hyatt Hotel. They all knew that at one point in the past, Bin Laden used to live there.
During Bush administration, after Iraq liberation, Ayattollahs in Iran tried to make a deal by surrendering Al-Qaeda memebers in Iran in exchange for their enemy Mojaheddin Khalq MEK members who took refuge in Iraq. This Mojaheddin, MEK, are different from Afghan Mojaheddin. They're Iranians who chose Mao's model of combat, strategic, tactic style against establishment. Attack- withdraw guerrilla warfare. Ayatollahs rejected them because they belive Mojaheddin mix Sharia law with Marxism. MEK or Mojaheddin had been involved in many governmental assasscinations before and after revolution. They're currently live in a camp in Albania.
Bush administration didn't honor the offer to exchange Mojaheddin members with Al-Qaeda members.
Al Qaeda members are Sunni and ruling criminal mullahs in iran are Shia, however when it comes to hating the west and western values, They both become united. They both follow the same ideology of radical Islam. They both oppose what is regards as man-made laws, and wants to replace them with a strict form of Sharia Law. Furthermore, similar to Ayatollahs, Al- Qaeda ideologues envision the removal of all foreign influences in Muslim countries. From the far east, from the philippines to Indonesia, to Malaysia, to India, to Pakistan reaching Mauritania........ They both put their differences aside and become united when it comes to fight against infidel (Kafir) which are Jews and Christians. They both fight for expansion of "Radical Islam" in the world. Their 3 major terrorist attacks were 1998 U.S embassy bombings in Kenya, 9/11 attack on twin towers in New York City, and Bali nightclub bombings in 2002.
Abdulahs Ahmed Abdullah who masterminded bombing in U.S embassy in Kenya assassinated in Tehran on August 7, 2020 as a result of cooperation of Israeli secret police and U.S informats. He was living in Tehran under assumed name, pretending to be a history teacher from Lebanon. Ayatollahs gave him sanctuary in Iran.
What Michael Pompeo, secretary of state in Trump administration, pointed out last week relates to the fact that "Radical Islam" is a big threat to our modern world. It doesn't matter if it is in Iran or if it is in Afghanistan or if it is in Egypt... or in Asia... . "Radical Islam" with all those barbaric principles such as lashing another human being in public... stonning people to death in public... etc.. doesn't match to western standards or modern world. The geographical location of radical islam is NOT important. It has to go away one way or the other.
In 1900's, Socialism was a big threat, but it ended in 1989 when Berlin wall collepsed. It was officially announced the end of Cold war or rather end of socialism in January 1992. "Radical Islam" started to grow on the ruin of Berlin wall.
