Global News: Family members of the victims of a plane that crashed in Iran after the country admitted it unintentionally shot the aircraft down Wednesday gathered on Saturday to hold a vigil in Tehran.

Several people held up notes saying, "We will never forget the victims of Flight 752," and "The lie killed us," in reference to previous statements by the Iranian government it was a mechanical issue that brought down the plane.

The vigil later turned into a protest, and hundreds gathered in anger following Iran's admittance it had unintentionally shot down the Ukrainian Airlines flight that killed 176 people on board.

Many shouted various slogans and called for the resignation of officials.
