The success of Argo confirms what Syriana told Hollywood but went unheard: Iran themed action movies do really well. Wouldn't be surprised if there are some blockbusters on the drawing board that could use good Iranian artists. A great deal of the authenticity in Argo came from the director using  real Iranian actors (stll not enough!). The admirable set recreations were secondary compared to the authentic casting. I don't know if we have Iranian production designers of the right caliber for top rated American films (Sharon Seymore in Argo), but we do have actors that can handle the  acting job as well as anyone.

The ground is literally shifting beneath their feet and the tragedy is it could have been avoided. Unlike the kings of old who they now praise, the leaders of the Islamic Republic have not fought the good fight against Afrasiab: they have invited him in. —Ali Ansari
