I woudn't want it in my neighborhood! But, if they build one in the neighboring town and keep it open 24/7 so the teenagers can use it for drinking and accessing its facilities then I would be fine with it! Oh, one more thing, they should add extra rooms in case kids want to take their gril friends for a quickie!

There's actually one near my house. I really don't care. I kept getting invited there by my Arab friends for Ramadan, and I kept making up excuses. They finally thought that I didn't want to go there because I'm (technically in their opinion) "Shia." I finally fessed up and told them "look guys, I'm an atheist and forgot a long time ago how to pray."  I thought that they will sever all contact with me, but to my surprise, they were pretty OK with it (they're Egyptian and Palestinian).  One of them actually responded by saying "so just come for the Iftar."  Not one to shy away from free Middle Eastern food, I said "sure."  So I went after the prayers and had some great food. Lots of vegan options for me too. There were grilled veggies, humus, baba ghanouj, fool (fava beans), falafel, makdoos, which I guess is eggplant marinated in olive oil with walnuts and garlic. Lots of good food.

I don't care about the building so much as i care about the folks going in and out of that building and mosques have a tendency of attracting the worst of the worst.

Dear Jockshe, that would be devastating to watch those poor animals suffer.  Luckily, where I live, there's nowhere near the amount of unused land needed for that kind of operation.

Brother hammal.

I could not answer to your survey, since my answer, DELIGHTED . ws not one of the options in your survey.

But anyway, when i first moved to this neighberhood in Florida, there were whores on every street corner. then more muslem brothers moved in, and we started chasing the whores out to the next neighboorhood , and building a mosque where the whores used to hang out. The neighboorhood is now transformed. We have muslem brothers and sisters every where. we have halal meat butchers everywhere, supplied by our own local slaughter houses  slaughtering the animals in the most humane eslamic fashion. My halal kebab house is certainly worth a visit if you or any of the brothers or sisters of iroon.com happen to be there. Next moharam we are for the first time planning to have a dasteh on ashura. So as brother observer said, having a mosque next door to you could at least lead to free food, and at most to eternal salvataion.

May there be a mosque on every street corner of the United States of America.

Ensha Allah.
