Authorities in Iran's Piranshahr have initiated legal proceedings against 58 individuals for participating in a wedding celebration that included traditional Kurdish dance.

The summonses were issued by local prosecutor Mojtaba Mahmoudi on January 2, with participants facing charges of "propaganda against the Islamic Republic" for their dance and celebration.

Videos of the wedding celebration, which circulated widely on social media, led to the charges.

The attendees, including the family members of Kumar Daroftadeh and Amir Farasati Shad—two individuals killed during the Woman, Life, Freedom movement - are required to appear before the Revolutionary Court in Piranshahr.

The traditional Kurdish dance performed at the wedding is cited specifically in the charges against the guests.
