Garments and the Soul

I sit on my stationary bike
And pedal in harmony
With the washing machine.

Its sound
Comes from the bathroom.
Huffing and puffing it climbs
And suddenly falls.

It washes my garments
And I wash my soul
Both of us thinking of the clothes rack
Which has now opened
Its two wings for us
On the balcony.

جامه و جان

بر دوچرخه‌ی ثابت می‌نشینم
و با ماشین رختشویی
همپا می‌شوم.

صدایش
از اتاق حمام می‌آید
هن‌هن‌کنان بالا می‌رود
و ناگهان فرو‌می‌ریزد.

او جامه‌ی مرا می‌شوید
و من جانم را
و هر دو به رخت‌افزاری می‌اندیشیم
که اینک در ایوان
دو بال‌اش را
برای ما گشوده است.
