Mismanay is a hamlet above the town of Maras in Peru's Sacred Valley, about an hour and a half drive from Cusco. On Saturday I went there with my friend Lisa who had spoken to a local lady to arrange for lunch. We feasted on a traditional three-course meal and went for a little walk. The views were spectacular, even by Peru's standards. I imagined living there at about 4,000 meters above sea level and all the world's troubles, looking out the window across the valley with the majestic Chicon mountain towering in the distance. But it could also be a weekend retreat. If ever you get the itch to visit Peru, you may want to stay here a couple of nights. Contact Eulogio Sota at joelsotayucra@hotmail.com.
