Almost a year ago on December 9th, 2012 Dogme ART hosted Sormeh girls in Milan.

Golnar Shahyar (voc, Percussion) and Mona Matbou Riahi (Clarinet, voc) from Iran as well as Jelena Popržan (Viola, Voc, Loops, Setar) from Serbia have started a promising trio together in which - with an exiting mix from Oriental to Balkan music -- have found their cosmopolitan compromises in Jewish music tradition as well as self arranged pieces zested with improvisational parts.
Iranian, Jewish, Armenian, Bulgarian, Greek and Sephardic songs, instrumental klezmer and Balkan sparks as well as harmonised lyrics, timeless resembling contemporary Chansons and original compositions, remove the geographical and mental borders. Elegant and mysterious like an oriental collyrium is nothing but the Persian word "Sormeh".
