News.com.AU:

Dramatic scenes have emerged as Iranian teammates appeared to pull and push a player onto a bus while protesters desperately chanted “save our girls”.

Chaos has erupted outside a Queensland hotel after protesters attempted to stop a bus carrying the Iranian women’s soccer team.

Some members of the team appeared to pull one player by the arm and collar towards the bus as the team left the hotel.

Several protesters were seen in front of the bus outside the team’s Gold Coast hotel on Tuesday afternoon.

One man was pictured lying on the ground, cradling a small, white dog.

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke confirmed earlier five members of the Iranian women’s soccer team had been issued humanitarian visas after expressing a desire to remain in Australia.
