Middle East Monitor:
Israel’s Channel 14 reported that the United States and Israel have reached an understanding to carry out fast and powerful strikes against Iran, if needed.
The commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Brad Cooper, held a meeting on Sunday with senior officials from the Israeli military in Tel Aviv. The meeting discussed several issues, including the situation with Iran.
On Sunday evening, Channel 14 published new details for the first time about the late-night meeting. According to the report, those present shared similar views and agreed to continue close cooperation between the two militaries.
During the meeting, US officials said that full readiness regarding Iran requires time and preparation. However, they stressed that the United States is always ready to take specific action.
Speaking about the possibility of a US attack on Iran, the commander said that US thinking is based on carrying out a fast, sudden and clean operation, according to the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency.
In addition, US officials believe that changing the current regime is a key necessity. If an attack were to take place, it is expected to focus on those responsible for harming civilians and protesters.
Separately, the commander of US Central Command confirmed that the United States is committed to protecting its allies in the Middle East, including Israel, and will not allow them to be harmed, according to the Israeli channel.
