Thirteen.

In the Name of Father

In the morning when the wind sleeps
I go to the balcony
And with the tip of my finger
write on the dusty skin of the railing:
“Father! Father of the earth!”*

The wind at the end of autumn
Has been traveling all night
Passing snow-capped summits
And burning sandy deserts
To bring a handful of earth
As a souvenir.

In this dust
Is there a sign of Father
Who returned to earth
On this same day
Last year?

* The name of my father was Abutorab which means “father of the earth or soil.”

        پدر پدران
بیست‌و‌یک شعر برای پدرم

سیزده.

به نام پدر

مجید نفیسی

بامداد که باد می‌خوابد
به ایوان می‌روم و با سرانگشت
بر پوستِ گردگرفته‌ی نرده می‌نویسم:
"پدر! پدرِ خاک!"*

بادِ آخرِ پائیز
سراسرِ شب در راه بوده
تا از قله‌های برفپوش
و شنزارهای سوزان بگذرد
و با خود مشتی خاک
به هدیه آورد.

آیا در این خاک
از پدر نشانی هست
که پارسال چنین روزی
به خاک بازگشت؟

        بیست‌و‌ششم نوامبر دو‌هزار‌و‌هشت

* نام پدرم "ابوتراب" بود که بمعنای "پدر خاک" است.
