This little-known film won six international awards shortly after its release. Claude Lelouch is a French film director, writer, cinematographer, actor and producer. Lelouch's Un homme et une femme (A Man and a Woman) won the Palme d'Or at the 1966 Cannes Film Festival, as well as two Oscars including Best Foreign Language Film.
Claude Pinoteau was an assistant director to Jean Cocteau in 1948. Sophie Marceau got her first role in La Boum, directed by Claude Pinoteau. The movie was a huge success in France at the time.
