Phils Guide to the World!

In this Ardabil City walking video we start at the Sheikh Safi al-Din Khānegāh and Shrine Ensemble, perhaps the most unique SUFI shrine in world.   How do I describe it?  You're gonna just need to watch to see!

Dating back to the Safavid era, the 700 year old Sheikh Safi al-Din Shrine includes a mosque, sufi tomb, library, school, and a mausoleum.  It showcases an intricate blend of Islamic architecture and Persian culture from the start of the Safavid Dynasty including exquisite tilework and calligraphy.

Next we visit Shar Yeri, an 8,000 year old ancient persian civilization that was only just recently discovered.  Here i found fascinating stone figurines of people who mysteriously are missing mouths!

Finally, I braved the Meshginshahr Suspension Bridge.   Meshginshahr is one of the Ardabil province cities with pristine nature and a cool climate.   Measuring 365 m long, 80m high, the bridge crosses the Khiav River and Meshginshahr Forest Park.   It’s also known as one of the largest suspension bridges in the Middle East.
