OPINION MAKERS: Do You Rely on Corporate News (TV Networks/ Press) to Shape Your Opinion ?
i have asked them many times to allow me taking part in their debates, but they invite only their own buddies the leftists and islamists! no pro-pahlavi or nationalist has areal chance there, in very rare cases if one of them is invited, always surrounded by an over numbered elements of the other side.
I agree it is NOT fair.
But then that is BBC and it does not matter what they do. Still they have not discovered Iranians in UK like to see their TV programs.
BBC persian and fareness? if you are a Nationalist, Pan Iranist and/or Monarchist there is no way they will let you in.
On the other hand if you are islamists (all flavor), jebheh meli crowd and/or communists you will always have a spot on their table!
Even if one looks at it from a purely journalistic point of view, let's say even if one were to consider the views of the monarchist constituency as "extreme" it is the job of any independent media to reflect them and give them the opportunity to express their views. Unlike BBC Persian, BBC English actually has been summoned to do so:
BBC News - BBC should reflect more 'extreme' views (BBC, 3 July 2013)
BBC Trust issues impartiality follow-up (BBC, August 2nd, 2012)
So why not BBC Persian ?
Viewers and readers are adult and can make up their own minds ...
To wish to dictate them their opinions is childish and only reflects the network’s management and editorial team's own insecurity and one which will ultimately backfire ... particularly in an era where thanks to social media views and opinions circulate faster and far more often than corporate medias would like to admit.
