I posted this quote because I see parallel between what Orwell says here and today's Iran. As I have mentioned on various occasions and in various blogs--I find some of the most rabid propagandists of the Islamic Republic to be Iranian women. Examples are abound, but Soraya Sepahpour and Leila Zand immediately come to mind. It's a very peculiar phenomenon, considering that women in Iran are the biggest victims of the Islamic Republic's gender apartheid state. Stockholm Syndrome could be one explanation.
AO jaan, none of the aforementioned women are young, neither are the few others that frequent Iranian.com!
I believe that they are just frustrated, unhappy, middle-age women who are directing their anger at the US and the civilized world or anything that crosses their path!
