BBC Persian Veteran Journalist Massoud Behnoud's derogatory comments on the late Princess as 'corrupt" has triggered widespread outrage in social media highlighting the bias and questionable past marked by his open support of the revolution of 79 and his reformist friends.

Iranian expat monarchist Khosro Fravahar from Austria who has a show on Andisheh TV didn't hesitate to call VOA and criticize their editorial bias:

This is not the first time Behnoud's darker past has been been brought to light. The man often presented as an "eminent" colleague by fellow BBC colleagues often invited as an "expert" of Iran's contemporary history given his own career as a young journalist under the Pahlavi Radio and Television where he was given the opportunity to interview major actors of the former regime in the circles of power before subtly switching sides under revolutionary circumstances is seen as an Iranian "Talleyrand" safeguarding his position under both regimes.

Beyond his open support for the current regime's reformists and Constitution as in the following debate with Journalist Shadi Sadre during following the 2009 upheavals:

Shadi Sadre's Rebuttal of Massoud Behnoud's Endorsement of IRI Constitution

Behnoud's most controversial stance was reminded by his fellow colleague Manouk Khodabakhshian where he blasted the BBC PErsian columnist for his incidiary editorial in Kayhan after the revolution's victory which led to the arrest and execution of his former Boss  Parviz Nikkhah and fellow colleague Mahmoud Jafarian.

BBC Persian has named a new editor in chief Razita Lotfi in replacement of Sadeq Saba (See Here), it is yet to be seen if such government funded Persian Speaking media outlets will prove less biased and more inclusive in their reporting and live debates.
