The son of a British couple detained in Iran, Joe Bennett, spoke to Sky News.

He said, he spoke to his mother for the third time in just under 11 months - for the first time she revealed her "true emotions".

Mr Bennett said she told him the couple were on a hunger strike. 

He said, "the fact that the only way to be heard was to stop eating - it tells you about how desperate they are".

The couple were charged with espionage in Iran during a motorcycle tour around the world.
