Historic Militaria

Today we're looking at a Persian Contract Mauser C/96 Pistol.  These were part of a 1,000 gun contract sold to the Persian government in about 1910.  Guns came out of the 154,000 serial number range.  They were engraved with the Persian Lion motif on the left side, but were otherwise completely standard Mauser pistols from the time.  Not many survive, and this is an example of a very interesting and unusual Mauser contract!
