Iranian New Year does not have a resolution tardiiton, that is a Western New Year tradiiton. This is part fo why we fail as a culture. There is often no point to us. Therefore for Norooz, we must simply strive to do better. Whatever that means.

but what about when you tie the sabzi/grass, or when you make a wish/resolution before you throw it in the joob at sizdah-bedar (sp?) :O  !!!  or maybe i'm getting cultures mixed up!  

I don't know how familiar is Mr. Bahmani with Iranians' traditions and culture. Most of what I have read from him is disrespectful and denigrating toward Iranians. Maybe, he considers his own cynicism an Iranian tradition.

Tyrannical regimeS?  Plural?  I'm only concerned with one tyranical regime, the one that keeps talking about "hegemonical" powers, and blames others for its own shortcoming.  Also, the adjective for hegemony is hegemonic, not hegemonical.
