The History of Ballet in Iran

Ballet in Iran reached its peak during the Pahlavi era. In 1968, the Iranian National Ballet was established with the support of Farah Pahlavi and staged remarkable performances at Roudaki Hall. Iranian dancers participated in international festivals, and Iran hosted prestigious ballet companies.

However, after the 1979 Revolution, ballet activities were halted, and many artists emigrated. Today, ballet in Iran is taught only privately and unofficially, but enthusiasts of this art continue to shine on the international stage.
