IranWire:

Body:Iranian authorities banned a television program about rap music and opened a legal case against its producers, state media reported.

The show "Gang," hosted by Ali Zia, was stopped on Wednesday by judicial order, according to Mizan news agency, which is affiliated with Iran's judiciary.

The program aired on the Filimo streaming platform and featured discussions about rap music.

Mizan did not name the show in its initial report but described it as a program about a music style that lacked legal permits and contained behavior and scenes "contrary to the cultural, religious and national values of Islamic Iran."

The first episode featured Mohammad Reza Shayea, a rapper who drew heavy criticism for his comments about obtaining permits to produce rap music.

Mizan called the first episode's release "illegal" and confirmed reactions and protests against the program.

Some media outlets reported that other Ali Zia performances unrelated to Gang have also been stopped.
