Trust me If the West doesn't support Crown Prince Reza today and a transitional government Iran will end up in 10 years time maybe earlier with a Putin like leader bearing hostility for the West. That will neither serve the Iranians aspirations for a genuine secular democracy, it will backfire on the West's own long term interests in seeing a stable Middle East. Iran could become a Western friendly Sweden or Spain of the Middle East playing a constructive role in the peace and prosperity of the region, instead it risks becoming a populist Putin like dictatorship under some ambitious political wannabe with the help of the same IRI lobbyists and apologists who bad mouth Crown Prince Reza to this day and with disregard for democratic values and human rights by seeking vengeance for what the country has endured since the revolution. That will set back Iran's century old struggle for democracy for decades to come.
