The Islamic Republic's authorities have arrested a woman Christian convert in Shiraz following her visit to the prosecutor's office.

Mojdeh Fallahi was taken into custody on September 9 after her appearance at the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Shiraz.

She was subsequently transferred to the Intelligence Office detention center, according to the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.

The circumstances surrounding Fallahi's arrest remain unclear.

No official statement has been released regarding the reasons for her detention, the specific charges she may be facing, or her current condition.

While Christians are recognized as a religious minority in Iran, the authorities deal harshly with those who convert from Islam to Christianity.
