The timeline of Maradona's complicated final month

MARCA: The final month of Diego Maradona's life was full of complications, culminating in the news of his passing this Wednesday, November 25.

His month in the headlines started right at the end of October. On October 30, it was his 60th birthday and he was treated to a special tribute by Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata. But, he didn't look well.

On Monday, November 2, the bad news really started. He was admitted to a hospital in La Plata and was supposed to go for a CT scan on the Monday night, but the equipment reportedly wasn't working properly and he instead went for a scan on Tuesday, November 3.

A subdural hematoma was detected and Maradona went for surgery on it, being transferred to the Clinica Olivos with thousands of fans cheering him on. There, the operation was performed by his personal doctor Leopoldo Luque. It was an 80-minute procedure and the surgery was a success.

Maradona then had to stay in hospital under supervision. Although there were reports that he wanted to be discharged early, he stayed and was given the all-clear on November 11, returning to his home in Nordelta to continue his recovery.

There was, for a couple of weeks, no major news about Maradona or his health.

But, then the shocking and devastating reports came out this Wednesday, November 25. Clarin reported first that the legend suffered a heart attack at his home and that he could not be resuscitated.

Maradona has left us. RIP.
