Khamenei's advisor: Iran still possesses enriched uranium reserves
Gazeta Express: Iran still possesses reserves of enriched uranium despite the United States' attacks on key nuclear facilities, an adviser to the Iranian supreme leader, Ali Shamhani, has said.
"Even if the nuclear facilities are destroyed, the game is not over, the enriched materials, indigenous knowledge and political will will remain," Shamhani wrote today in a post on the X network.
He added that the political and operational initiative now belongs to the side that plays smart and that "the surprises will continue!"
Shamhani was suspected of being killed in an Israeli airstrike in Tehran last week.
However, on Friday, state media in Iran published a letter from Shamhani to Ali Khamenei, in which he stated that he was in fact alive.
Ali Akbar Velayati, another senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, said that bases used by US forces to launch attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities would be considered legitimate targets.
"Any country in the region or elsewhere that is used by American forces to attack Iran will be considered a legitimate target for our armed forces," Velayati said in a message carried by the IRNA agency, adding that "there is no longer a place for the United States in the Middle East."
Recall, in the early hours of the morning, the United States launched an attack on three Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. Six stealth B-2 Spirit bombers dropped twelve GBU-Fifty-Seven bombs on the underground Fordow complex, while US submarines fired thirty cruise missiles at the facilities at Natanz and Isfahan.
A few hours after the attack, President Donald Trump said that the bombings completely destroyed three Iranian nuclear facilities, Natanz, Esfahan and Fordow, KosovaPress reports.
"Either there will be peace or Iran will face a tragedy far greater than what we have seen in the last eight days," Trump said in a speech at the White House, calling Iran "the aggressor of the Middle East" and saying: "If peace does not come soon, we will strike other targets with precision, speed and capability."
