Based on the past contributions of the blocker which are the gold standard for extreme shallowness, being blocked by such contributor is a compliment everyone should graciously accept.
BTW, that qoute from Fereydoon turned Rouhani is from last year, used for this new occasion.
Thanks, Fred. Oh, and by the way, such manifestations of the Mollah Regime Good Cop/Bad Cop routine are clearly intended for Western audiences, since the same Twitter that Rouhani and other regime figures supposedly use to make comments (or their PR people use on their behalf) is BLOCKED from Iranians.
Dear Amir,
Blocking is the last refuge of the virtual scoundrel! It is what a little scared mouse with a megaphone does!
Faramarz jaan, it is a dictatorial mindset, entirely unsurprising from supporters of a filthy authoritarian regime.
Check out the latest PR release highlighted by our dear Iranian brother. My response (again, blocked) is as follows:
Mr. Fereydoon must have special, magical abilities to predict on June 29, 2013 (the date of that Tweet) that he would be "freeing" in May 2014 the young Iranians (but not the director) after they were already abused and humiliated in jail and on national TV.
What kind of "president" deosn't have the balls to come out and declare his position on an issue? The best this clown could do was to re-post a cryptic campaign quote?!! That quote could of course mean anything. Why didn't he just post a Hafez quote?!
Dear AO, we have seen this movie before. One has to go way, way back to 1997-2005 to recall the IRI's Good Cop/Bad Cop shpiel. What's most amusing is watching how the Regime Groupies handle this:
- first, you focus on the fact that they have been freed (but not the director and after being humiliated and abused and having to appear in one of the IRI's sham so-called courts at a future date)
- second, you highlight the fact that the Twitter page with Rouhani's name on it has some quote from 2013 about "happiness"
- third, you argue that the regime isn't really to blame for this anyway, just some "hardliners" trying to make the cute-and-cuddly "softliners" look bad
- fourth, you express indignation that "warmongers" are "exploiting" this to "bash Iran" and go to war (if I had a dime every time that prediction has been made since about 2002....)
It's the appeasement oriented psyche of the majority of Iranians. I don't have a Facebook account, but my partner does. There is an Iranian woman on my partner's Facebook account who is NIAC fan...you know, always posts complaining articles about Israel, neocons, how "iran" is a victim of a huge conspiracy, posts NIAC articles and articles by that despicable cherik-e- fadaii turned IR lover Abbas Edalat on her Facebook page, travels to Iran and posts photos of herself having chelo-kaba, brushes off the compulsory hejab as not being "that bad," blah, blah, blah (of course, she's a U.S. citizen). Anyway, after these poor guys were arrested for the video, she had posted an "outrage" status about why they were arrested! I felt like taking control of my partner's Facebook and tell her "lady, what did you expect? These kids got arrested because of IR appeasers like you, who constantly try to put lipstick on the IR pig and constantly try to blame their atrocities on everyone else. What the f**k did you expect? That the IR is going to turn into Sweden because a smiling mullah was slected to be its symbolic "president?" (of course, I was unfortunately not permitted to do so).
The real problem is that a lot of Iranians (esepcially the West residing ones) seem to think that because they and their relatives in Iran are soft spoken and "nice" and read Hafez then, by extension, the IR must be the same...because they too speak Farsi. That's really what is happening here.
Hey IRI agents run IC...No boubt about!
AMIR,
who is Fereydoon, someone in the IRI government ?
Amir
To be fair on the islamo NIACI creature, I dont blame him for blocking you. After all, you insulted his paymaster :)
@Rea, Fereydoon is the original last name of Hassan Rouhani. A number of the Khomeinists changed their names from Iranian names to Arab Islamic ones (talk about walking identity crises), including Mir Hossein Mousavi's wife; the Islamist Cultural Revolution Commissar/"intellectual" Soroush; the hostage taker's spokeswoman/reformy "reformist" Massoumeh Ebtekar; and the Mollah Regime's latest moderate/softliner/reformy "reformist" pseudo-"president" Rouhani. Here is more (second blog down):

Dear AO, you hit the nail on the head. I would also add the unbelievable lowering of expectations. In a recent exchange with an Iranian-American friend of mine (who is an atheist, hedonist, and womanizer) he said that you could buy The Economist at a news kiosk in Tehran and only the sexy ads were blacked out -- could you do that in Saudi Arabia?!? That is the level of expectations some of us have reached. I see it in some Iranians in Iran, too. Instead of questioning why they have to wear the hejab at all, they "boast" about how "free" they are to push their roosaris back several inches on their heads and show a few inches of hair. The IRI's Good Cop/Bad Cop routine manipulates and exploits that same mentality and lowered expectations.
Sorry if the Azarmehr link doesn't work. Just google Potkin Azarmehr, go to his blog, and look for the entry :
If They Are Iranian, Why are they Ashamed of Having Iranian Names?
Thx, AMIR, for the link (in fact, am familiar with Potkin's blog thx to you, you brought it up recently in another topic).
That name changing business is appalling.
You are welcome, Rea.
Very true on the roosari front Amir jaan. I am embarrassed to say that my own mother repeated that statement after returning from a recent trip to Iran. In addition to lowered expectations and appeasement, there are two other cultural factors in play. First, is the akhoond-ish culture of "ghena'at kardan" and "geda parvari." In essence, be satisfied with what Allah (or his earthly representative, Khamenei, has in store for you, whether it be berenj and piaz or personal freedom. Second, Iranians also have a weird sense of pride. They're not proud enough to disallow a two-bit shepeshoo akhoond from Ghom dictate every facet of their lives, but they have just a pinch of pride not to let themselves down in front of others. So, in order to give their image a boost, they compare themselves to a worse situation (like your friend) just to elevate their image a bit. And that superficial self gratification is enough for them.
And then of course, you have the professional propagandists. You know, a couple of years back, I was having an online debate with the paid IR representative and former PressTV operative Niloufar Parsi on the old IC. I mentioned women's rights in Iran. His / her response: Iranian women have much more personal freedom and rights than women in some of the other countries in the "area," such as Yemen and Somalia. You read correctly. S/he was comparing Iranians to Somalians, a backward country that has been without a government for the past two and a half decades...and Yemen. Not Turkey, Dubai, Syria or even Iraq or Pakistan...but Somalia and Yemen. :-)
Dear AO, a few months back Netanyahu said something to the effect of young Iranians wanting to wear jeans and not being allowed to. The same people who "khodeshoon ra jerr dadand" then are now curiously silent or very muted (e.g. "they've been 'freed', move along, nothing to see here. Let's get back to what really impacts Iranians, the Jooooz).
You bunch of moaning minnies. I observe the Rouhani face of President Fereydoun on the moon every night. As the enriched uranium is diluted, his face shines ever brighter. May he administer the poisoned chalice to the maghad of all Islamists starting with Ali Geda and being a fair minded person to himself soon thereby making every single Iranian really happy. I await that Tweet eagerly.
PS: I am sure he will include Blingie as well who has been practising self flagellation and bending over regularly.
Amir jaan - one should never let down her guard when it comes to the Joooooz. They lurk everywhere...waiting to attack Iranians and make them their bitches. :-)
@AO, of course: in my case, they reside under my bed.
@fozolie: Hilarious! Seeing Emam's face in the moon back in 1978 should be a permanent stain of shame on our fine nation (or at least that segment who looked up at the sky that night).
I know the feeling. I was attacked the other day on the subway by a group of them. Turns out they were these guys. It appears as if aside from what they're accused of, they're also engaged in kidnapping Iranians. :-)

Oy Vey!
Have you guys read this new GEM from NP:
This was in the comments section of her new blog, something about...change...change...is inevitable...some crap like that. so anywho...she is now claiming that those who think that our bearded, turbanned friend are NOT originally representative of iranian people and are on a mission by foreign powers Really need to get their heads examed and are traitors.
You can read the comment , it is still there:))
She wrote it in response to some of us exposing the phoniness of the internal opposition in IR whom she had idolized in a comments in response to a sharp Bahmani blog. She is spending a lot of time answering everything therefore her stupid blogs got up in the mostly discussed ranking. As the point has been made many times before the no of phoney bilakhs or in the case of The Iranian, repetitious clicks (at least JJ fixed that folly in the new site) as a measure is meaningless.
I seriously she is on drugs or something, and to think that with all her beratings and meaningless crap, she is claimed to be an International Analyst!!!!
What poor, bastards Antarnational "an"lyss Jourtzznal:) would pay her to write pure brown sugar, is beyond me .
LOL.
I thought Niloufar Parsi was not her real name?
She goes by many names and she deserves the right to express herself in many different ways and she also has the exclusive right to label and pounce on anyone who stands in her way.
You know...all the things that your average , heads - in -the clouds, propagandists does:)))
Hey let me join you Amir. The presumptive nature of his/her blog called Tehran Douche made me laugh. So I said it as such, pointing out that the assumption that the blogger's posts would get top billing in the new Iroon site assuming JJ would edit and be selective, was highly conceited, further suggesting the blogger may be, as the Persian saying goes be sucking Somagh for quite a while till that day comes. And Bingo! I was blocked as expected.
Dear fozolie, here their ilk can only block us. In Ommatestan, we could get "special treatment" in one of their filthy dungeons for disrespecting his Excellency, Seyyed Ali.
Dear DoctorMohandes, do you know that I was blocked by Iranian.com for commenting on one of her asinine and dishonest propaganda 'blogs' by posting to links with statistics showing how low the IRI is ranked among states in life expectancy, infant mortality, literacy rate, female literacy, etc???
Amir jaan - on the blocking end, don't feel so bad. I have been blcoked by every member of JJ's extended family after I had an argument with JJ's daughter once on this site. Considering that there are quite a few of them on this site, and each has about a half dozed different usernames (conclusively shown during that debate) I am probably blocked by about 50 different usernames on iroon.com. These folks really stick together though. To be fair though, I was the one who blocked her first...but I only have one username. :-(
PS-now watch the deluge of "dislikes" on this and my other comments...Happens every single time with that bunch. :-)
Amir jan
I remember those posts so vividly. She is such a rabid fanatic , that at times she plays with words and invents the most nonsensical and rediculous of rantings or AAnalyses.
Hey AO
You ain't getting no TD's from me. and That TD ain't no touchdown big dawg....woof woof:))
Gentlemen (AO and DM), thank you for your insights.
I know DM jann-- Thanks my firend.
Amir jaan -first of all, gentlemen yourself :-) Second, dude, it was so fuuny when I was having the "debate" with JJ's daughter. Every comment that I worte would immediatey get 9-10 dislikes, within a minute or so. I even wrote, as a joke, that it was a nice day out, and that comment even got about ten dislikes. But in the middle of their multiple username dislike frenzy, JJ's daughter wrote a comment complaining that she doesn't see any "love" in me, and that had disappointed her. She was complaining about lack of "love" on my end in the middle of a dsilike frenzy. Ahhh the irony...
AO, certain folks in this world are motivated by hatred and jealousy. It shows in their politics and in their personalities.
This is indeed hilarious.
You know, I don't mean any offense to our dear lady here, but it is a common tactic used by many women, that towards the end when they are totally out of ammunition and hit the brick wall, they change the subject and take shots at something totally unrelated.
But i am for one glad to see you and mr. Amir hanging in there and solidly maintaining your clown-busting, refuting and denying big-mouther people any chance to have their day.
Doctor jaan, Chamanetam: Chakeretam. Mokhlesetam. Nokaretam.
Amir jan
We more:)
Briefly, whenever you come to teyloon, give me a zing so we can have one tea at your service:))))))
Ghorbanet, will do. I'm Esfahani, but I do pass through Tehran on my way there.
That is good my man.
I know a great place, on the way from Eeemaamm airportz to isfahan that serves some badazz pancake and kaleh pache and it is called the "revolutionary house of Kaleh cake".
I heard the owner just moved to iran from New zealand:) I will try to get us some coupons.
Interesting info. Thanks, bud.
This is why I don't post here often (Sorry JJ! I warned you about this). Putting the fox in charge of the henhouse is only asking for problems. Talk about censorship! When writers have control over the comments they receieve, we are all doomed.
Above all, we should always be wary of the writer.
"A poet who reads his verse in public may have other nasty habits." - Lazarus Long
Of course, my readers all love me.
Bahmani jaan, fair enough. But, the censorship regime at Iranian.com is a lot more restrictive than here.
