On Friday, March 8, there was an International Women's Day celebration in San Francisco, presented by 30Voices. Iranian artists and activists came from all over the world to participate in this event at the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts. The theme of the celebration was "Tahmineh: Love, Courage & Consequence!" Here's what the program announcement said:

"For the first time ever, Iranian Women artists, scholars & activists from across the world will gather at Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco to tell Tahmineh's story of Love, Courage & Consequence from Ferdowsi's Shahnameh and its relevance today. Featuring an art exhibition, silent auction, live music, dance performances, poetry readings, recitations & presentations from the Shahnameh.

Tahmineh's story captures the essence of the human condition weaving compelling and timeless themes."
