فیلم سینمایی «مرگ یزدگرد» یکی از مهم‌ترین و ماندگارترین آثار سینمای اندیشه‌محور ایران به نویسندگی، کارگردانی و تهیه‌کنندگی بهرام بیضایی است؛ اثری که بر اساس نمایشنامه مشهور او ساخته شد و به‌دلیل نگاه متفاوتش به تاریخ، سال‌ها از نمایش عمومی بازماند. این فیلم با بازی‌های درخشان سوسن تسلیمی، مهدی هاشمی، امین تارخ و علیرضا خمسه و فضاسازی منحصربه‌فرد، در نخستین جشنواره فیلم فجر (1361) به نمایش درآمد، اما پس از آن عملاً توقیف شد و به یکی از آثار بحث‌برانگیز تاریخ سینمای ایران بدل گشت.
