The list of items to be removed for the sake of real democracy starts with "Affirmative Action", right at the top...

Electoral college certainly has its flaws but switching to the popular vote is not as assuring as it appears to be. One scenario that I can think of is instead of spending time and money on a suburban or rural area of a swing state all the attention will be paid to large metropolitan areas. Incidentally, the population of top 20 metropolitan areas in the U.S.A. roughly equals the sum of all of the voters in each of the recent presidential elections.

Well you can't win all the time ;) 

The Rules are the Rules ! 

Every time Liberals loose an election they bring up this issue because they know without Electoral College majority of the votes in U.S will be nullified by two populace states of New York and California and as you guessed those two states vote Democrats  all the time! 

Accepting MRX "logic" one can come to this conclusion that democracy and voting system in all other democratic countries sucks! ... because ... "majority of votes will be nullified by populace states" ... !!! 

Dear Darius ... Should we accept all rules and laws? In short, It all depends ... Rules are not good rules all the time ...That is why not everybody in Nazi Germany, South Africa, and .... didn't go by the "rules and laws" ... That is why in so many places around the globe today people don't go by the "rules" and try to change it through legal and legislative channels ... like what this petition wants to do.

The only people who whine about Electoral college are democrats when they loose! when they win its all good and dandy the system worked as it should!

Guaranty if corrupt Hillary won this one, no one would be talking about Electoral College. Bottom line here is a lesson every one should learn by the age of 21: You can not always get what you want in life! 

Time to stop whining. Time to move on. 

Time to welcome Steve Bannon to the White House!
