Generally speaking, the generation that in deeds or words participated in the disastrous 1979 Iranian revolution can be classified in three distinct groups.

1- Those proud of their handiwork.

2- Those while remorseful, still hanging on to the pipedream of reformability of the Islamist fascism.

3-those who know Iran’s resurrection from the past 40 years of destructive regression is only possible by getting rid of Islamist fascism in all its metastasizing formats.

The first two groups are still addicted to the same amount, if not more of the anti-Pahlavism that propelled them to participate in the overthrow of the progressively authoritarian, yet reformable Pahlavi Dynasty.

The third group has overcome that malady, allowing them to accept any and all reasonable possibility for emancipation of Iran from Islamist fascist tyranny including the restoration of constitutional monarchy led by Prince Reza Pahlavi.

Although old habits are hard to kick, it is not impossible to do so. However, if one’s identity and worldview were tied to an old habit, then it might be next to impossible to get the monkey off the addict’s back.

Airtight sanctions - which includes oil - a la against the despicable South Africa apartheid, works. U.S.lawmakers get to it.
