One thing Ebadi is afraid to admit is if without the emancipation brought about by the two Pahlavi kings she would have been able to be educated in law and eventually appointed an assistant judge. She is a disgrace to the name of women Iranian or not.

To my mind, Shirin Ebadi blew it when she used her Nobel speech to denounce the US for Guantanamo, etc, rather than focusing on her OWN far, far more oppressive regime. And her nonsense about "Islamic democracy", etc hasn't helped either. Compare her to Aung San Suu Hyi, and she definitely comes out far inferior in effectiveness and standing.

Yes, it is difficult to see where she is coming from. It is possible she is a bahaee.

Anglo and Amir1973 clearly pointed out what the issue was/is with Ebadi.  when the eyes and ears of the world was on her, she blew it with her acceptence speech. To make the matters worst she followed it up with one none sense after another. who could forget her jesture of offering her peace prize to Khatami?  

Well at this juncture her 15 minutes of fame is over no one (pro or against the regime) cares about what she has to say. 

Yes she has   --  but before that I'd like to hear Obama's explanation. He is the one who promissed the closing down of Guantanamo. He is the death master of drone killings: 5 civilians per a possible taliban. Mrs. Ebadi lives in an atmosphere where most of the Lengesh Kons have fled where as Obama is the president of the "strongest democracy" in the world.  

It's no surprise that a liar and shameless West-residing supporter of the Iranian mass-executing Mollah Regime tells lies: '5 civilians per a possible taliban". Where is your evidence, liar?
