Hi, NO Iranian.com is alive and well, alive (for now). It depends on what the new owner Said Amin chooses to do with it and when he chooses to do it. I have spoken to Said and he is pragmatic and passionate about Iranians, and more than capable. So I expect him to transition the old site to something more fun and modern and new. We have to wait and see if he tackles the comments and bullying issue with a sounder editorial policy than before. This site though, is ALL JJ. And as you can tell has even less rules than Iranian.com. Although there is no motto "Nothing is Sacred" this time around, I guess the unofficial motto is "Arm yourself because no one else here will save you." I often think that JJ is really an Anarchist. Not that he wants to destroy anything, but that he kind of thinks that there is no need for traffic lights and that people if left un-ruled, will eventually learn to stop at the cross-sections, and look both ways before proceeding. I kind of agree.
Yes yes iranian.com will be shut down! Aaay people! aay daad! aaay havar! LOL!
the readership at i.com had gone down considerably specifically because JJJ allowed it to go down the drain and be taken over by anti-everything people! The most viewed over there is about 1000 and those are your run of the mill anti-islam, anti-bahai and such. I don't know about this site yet but will have to wait and see. For now you can't even hit enter to add a line! It'
The "Enter" key is too quick, it won't let me add a line. Aay people! aaay havaar! aaay vaay!
For me, it has been very sad to see how IC has been turned to, a cheap, highly partisan and void of any meaningful discussion. The bullying and name calling has driven most of the good members away and it will not be long before it will be a place only for thug-minded members. In a way, it is really a reflection on us, the mostly educated and Westernized members who forget civility as soon as we are in the same crowd, Iranians.
I just learned about this site and going to give a shot and will look forward to seeing many of the old folks who I have always enjoyed reading their content.
Bavafa jaan it HAS turned into a troll controlled and gathering for rude people but it is the result of JJJ just ignoring the elephant in the room for as long as he did. Looks like here he has made those changes and so we'll see. This place is still not well organized and it's kind of hard to navigate, maybe when we get more used to it.
EA aziz: I agree about hard to navigate this new IC but I suspect it is going to take a bit of time to get it matured and also use to. The important thing to keep in mind is to keep its integrity and content to a mature level and not allow it to turn into another just bashing/jabbing at each other cyber room.
I like it so far and have made it my new home for the Iranian related discussion/information

‘Hambastegi’ is one of the main key to victory
EA: IC was at its greatest when it didn't delete comments/blogs. Yes, there was a mixed bag of content, fluff, and vulgar but as the old saying goes the readers were/are wise enough to differentiate between the good and the bad and over time the percentage of the former prevailed that of the latter. Look at IC now, it's dominated by a few people who have 100's if not 1000's of IDs. They are very cleaver and well-penned in both English and Farsi. They are also great in psychology to the point that they can create several characters just like in books. Then he/they carry multiple conversations among the fictitious characters (both male and female) and get them all excited and riled up. Sometimes, the person imitating these characters makes them fight and uses insults and eventually self-deletes them to the point of extinction. These few individuates are geniuses and the poor admin is completely lost and confused! Any guesses as to who the mastermind behind the 10000 ID's might be!
arggg inspector, these discussions are old now. I don't feel like rehashing them, just use the past experiece. everywhere in the internet this ownership of contents and comment or user control has been established and no one talks about it, except us! Had JJJ done what he is doing now about 2 or 3 years ago i.com would've been a better place. Now everybody is trashing it! I think it'll survive though and with new changes it'll come back to prosperity.
